Mike Brown, RPh
President

Mike Brown, RPh, was named President of Kerr Health (formerly Kerr Health Care Services) in February, 2009. A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy, Brown began his career as an Assistant Store Manager with Thrift Drug in 1980, ascending to District Manager in 1987, with responsibility for operations in Delaware, Maryland, South Philadelphia and New Jersey.

He became Director of Loss Prevention in 1994, serving in that capacity during a period of extensive growth, including the acquisition of Fay’s Drug stores in NY, PA, VT, and NH as well as Rite Aid stores in North and South Carolina.

Brown joined Kerr Drug in 1997 as District Manager of its Charlotte area stores. He was selected to launch the Kerr Health Care Services business unit and later named its VP of Operations in 2001. Under Brown’s leadership, the business unit has grown substantially, with service lines being established in long-term care, specialty pharmacy, fertility, transplant and compliance care.

A father of five, Brown lives in Youngsville, NC with his wife and three youngest children.

Rebecca W. Chater, RPh, MPH, FAPhA
Executive Vice President

As Executive Vice President of Kerr Health, Rebecca Chater, RPh, MPH, FAPhA directs the Care Management service line previously known as KDI Health Solutions, a Health Care provider organization specializing in preventive and chronic care services. In leading the development of clinical pharmacy services within Kerr Drug, Chater earned recognition for Kerr as 2006 Pinnacle Award recipient by the American Pharmacists Association Foundation; 2007, 2008, and 2009 National Medication Therapy Management Provider of the Year by Outcomes Pharmaceutical Health Care; 2008 North Carolina Provider of the Year by the American Diabetes Association; and most recently, the 2008 Eagle Award by the North Carolina Alliance of Healthy Communities.

Chater has been recognized nationally for her professional leadership as a past Trustee and Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association, past recipient of the prestigious APhA Gloria Niemeyer Francke Leadership Mentor Award, as well as the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management Administrative Practice Award. On the state level, she is past recipient of the North Carolina Young Pharmacist Award, North Carolina Preceptor of the Year, North Carolina Association of Pharmacists Innovative Practice Award, the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists Don Blanton Award, and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Distinguished Service Award. Extensively published, she is a Fellow of APhA and the Wharton School of Business. She is a two-term Member, and President of the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.

Chater lives in Fayetteville, NC, with her husband and daughter.

Jerry Lamb, RPh
Vice President of Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Lamb oversees the specialty pharmacy and long-term care service lines of Kerr Health. He has an extensive, 20 plus year career in retail pharmacy operations, management, and human resources with Thrift Drug, Rite Aid, and most recently, Kerr Drug, where he spent 12 years.

As District Manager for the southern district of Kerr Drug, Lamb had responsibility for 27 stores in the Carolinas and introduced varied programs for both pharmacy and store operations.

An alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh (BS, Pharmacy), Lamb is married and has two children attending the University of South Carolina, one in the South Carolina College of Pharmacy.

J. Andrew Maddigan, MS, MBA
Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Prior to joining Kerr Health, Maddigan was Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations for LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care (now HPC Healthcare), a large not-for-profit health care provider operating in central Florida.

From 1995-2005 he served as chief of communications for the City of Buffalo, NY’s Public School system, acting as its spokesperson. Along with media relations and legislative liaison responsibilities, he also oversaw and re-launched the district website, produced and hosted three monthly television programs, along with award winning videos and a rebranding campaign. He also held positions in communications and public affairs in the nuclear services division of Westinghouse Electric Company, where he launched the company’s first website, and with aerospace/defense manufacturer, Carleton Technologies.

Maddigan has a BS in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University, an MBA in Marketing from St. Bonaventure University, and an MS in Education Administration from Canisius College, where he lectured in the graduate school of education. Maddigan serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Francis House, a community service organization in Tampa, FL assisting those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Having moved to the Raleigh area in 2009, Maddigan has two grown children living in NY.
